Men's Tennis Ready For Midweek Matches Against Texas A&M, Boston College

ARLINGTON - The UT Arlington men's tennis team will take on two Power 5 opponents over the next two days, traveling to Texas A&M on Wednesday, March 9 for a 12 pm match against the Aggies before returning to Arlington for a 12 p.m. match against Boston College on Thursday, March 10.

The Mavericks enter the week with an 8-5 record on the season and will be looking for the elusive first road win of the season when they travel to Aggieland. Newcomer Maks Lukman has been a steady hand for the Mavericks, posting a 10-3 record since arriving on campus in January.

Not to be outdone are returners Miguel Cabrera and Alan Sau Franco, who lead the team with 14 wins and 12 wins.  Sau Franco has been the #1 singles for much of the year for the Mavericks and has won back-to-back matches.

The Mavericks will need to figure out their doubles lineup to try to get a leg up on either team. UTA is currently posting a .533 winning percentage in dual doubles matches. The Mavs are best on court two, where they hold a 7-4 record, led by the partnership of Anton Shepp and Miguel Cabrera.

SCOUTING TEXAS A&M
The Aggies are 8-5 on the season and are riding a two-match win streak heading into the match against UTA with wins over Incarnate Word and Arkansas. Texas A&M has played a tough schedule thus far, taking on six ranked opponents and going 2-4 against them. This will be the 5th match between the Aggies and Mavericks with A&M winning the previous four.

SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE
Boston College is 3-4 this season and will take on Gonzaga in Los Angeles prior to heading to Arlington. They are coming off back-to-back 7-0 losses to Wake Forest and North Carolina State. This will be the first match against Boston College for the Mavericks

ON DECK
The Mavs will travel south to take on Rice (Saturday, March 12) at 1 pm and Lamar (Sunday, March 13) at 12 pm.
