ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington softball team (20-17) looks for its second win over Baylor this season as the Mavericks are set to welcome the Bears to Allan Saxe Field Tuesday, Apr. 19 for the second time this year.
The Mavericks are fresh off a 4-0 week as UTA improved its overall record to 20-17 after picking up its third Sun Belt series sweep against Georgia Southern and a midweek win at ACU last Tuesday.

SERIES HISTORY
Baylor leads the all-time series 53-28 against the Mavs. Heading into Tuesday's matchup, UTA defeated the Bears in a 12-3 run-rule victory back at the Mavericks home opener earlier this season on Feb. 23. Including February's contest this season, UTA has collected four notable victories against the ranked Bears. In the 2019 season, the Mavericks came out on top twice in a double-header as part in the Getterman Classic. Those wins ended with a score of 5-2 in game one and a 10-2 run-rule in the game two. In the last matchup between the two teams, the Mavericks fell to the Bears 1-6 in Waco in February of 2021.

UTA NOTES (20-17)
- The Mavericks are coming off a series sweep over Georgia Southern this past weekend – third Sun Belt series sweep this year – as the squad improved its conference record to 10-8.
- Over the course of the weekend, third baseman KJ Murphy led the Mavericks offensively going 5-9 with a total of four RBI. The graduate student collected a home run in game one and two home runs in game three of the series as she now has five long balls on the year.
- UTA's pitching staff tabbed two shut outs against the Eagles with a 5-0 score in the first game Friday and 6-0 in the final game Saturday.
- Freshman lefty Morgan Max and sophomore Gracie Bumpurs had solid performances on the mound in last week's mid-week matchup at ACU as the pair threw a combined no-hitter which marked the first time UTA has tabbed a no-hitter since April of 2015 where former Mav, Sam Montes, threw a no-hitter against Central Arkansas. As this also was the first career-combined no-hitter for the pair.
- The Mavericks are on a four-game win streak after a midweek win at ACU and a conference sweep. Amongst the Mavs' pitching staff, both Jessica Adams and Morgan Max went on to tab a 0.00 ERA each as the pair did not allow a single run. Adams led with 13.0 innings pitched as Max threw 8.0.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT- Baylor (22-18)
- Baylor sits on an overall record of 22-18 as the Bears are coming off a 2-0 weekend after facing Sam Houston in Waco at Getterman Stadium.
- Sophomore McKenzie Wilson leads the pack with a .423 batting average on the season with 24 RBI, 47 hits, a .613 slugging percentage and 20 walks.
- Emily Hott has started in 26 games for the Bears this season as the sophomore has tabbed 27 hits, 11 RBI a .456 slugging percentage and a .448 on-base percentage.
- In the circle, Dariane Orme has thrown the most for Baylor this season as she's pitched 96.1 innings. The sophomore sits on a 3.42 ERA and an 8-10 record. So far this season, Orme has recorded 5 complete games and 96 strike outs.
- Fellow pitcher, Maren Judisch, leads the pitching staff with a low 1.75 ERA across 24.0 innings pitched. This year, Judisch holds a 2-0 record.
ON DECK
UTA will look to secure its fourth Sun Belt Conference series as the squad will head to Troy, Alabama to face the Troy Trojans with the first of three games beginning Friday, Apr. 22 at 6 p.m.
