CONWAY, S.C. – The UT Arlington baseball team lost to Coastal Carolina on Saturday afternoon 7-1. The Mavericks are now 11-28 overall and 4-13 in the Sun Belt Conference.
 
Michael Wong (L, 1-4) got the start for the Mavericks, allowing six runs over 6.1 innings. Connery Peters (0.2 IP) and Jack Hagan (1.0 IP) finished the game for the Mavericks.
 
UTA finished with seven hits in the game as Nick Pierce and Zach Henry each ended with 2-for-4 days at the plate. Henry drove in the lone run o the game as he hit his fourth home run of the season.
 
After both teams were put down in order to begin the game, Zach Henry took an 0-1 pitch in the second inning and drove it over the left field wall for his fourth home run of the season.
 
Coastal Carolina answered in the home half of the inning, using a groundout with runners on the corners to score one run and tie the game.
 
With two outs in the bottom of the third, the Chants added three runs off three hits and a sacrifice fly.
 
The Mavericks threatened in the bottom of the fourth as Zach Henry and Wilson Galvan both reached base to put runners at second and third. However, UTA was unable to get anything going as the following three batters struck out.
 
In the bottom of the fourth, Coastal hit a solo home run to center field to push the score to 5-1.
 
Coastal used two hits and an error in the bottom of the seventh inning to extend their lead by two runs.
 
The Mavericks will look to take the final game of the series against Coastal Carolina tomorrow at 10 am at Springs Brooks Stadium.
