LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The UT Arlington women's golf team moved up two spots in the team leader board after Tuesday's 2nd-round 295 of NM State's Golf Iconic Classic from NM State Golf Course.
Overall, the Mavericks currently reside in 12th place, alongside Southern Utah and Jacksonville State, behind a 592 36-hole total.
So far, UTA has totaled 109 pars with freshman
Nirjara Gulhane leading the squad with 24 under her belt. Of the 24 birdies across the five-player lineup, sophomore
Madison Le paces the Mavs with seven.

Le
- Le was one of three UTA players who didn't put anything higher than a bogey on her card as she turned in a 2nd-round 75. The sophomore's round featured five bogeys, two birdies (1, 4) and 11 pars.
Gabel
- The sophomore got her day started on 13 as she played the first 12 holes in -2 with three birdies coming on 14, 3 and 6. After recording her second bogey of the round on 7, Gabel still managed to par the final five holes to cap a 71 – her second round of even par or better on the season.
Manikandesh
- Manikandesh shot in +3 through the first 10 holes (13-4) with three bogeys on 15, 18 and 2. The sophomore went on to play the closing holes in +3 with a pair of birdies on 5 and 11, tabbing a 2nd-round 75.
Choi
- The fifth year improved her score by two shots from Monday's opening round as she turned in a 2nd-round 74. Choi's card consisted of a double, four bogeys, nine pars and a team-high of four birdies.
Gulhane
- The freshman kicked off Tuesday's round with an opening-par on 15 before following it up with a bogey on 16, placing her card at 1-over before making the turn. With a bogey on 3, Gulhane was able to get her score back down to +1 – courtesy of a birdie on 8. Unfortunately, three additional bogeys and a closing double derailed her momentum, leading to a 78.
