ARLINGTON, Texas – Despite 13 points and 10 rebounds from
Avery Brittingham, the UT Arlington women's basketball team (0-4) fell to the Roadrunners of UTSA (3-1), 70-66, inside the College Park Center on Saturday afternoon.
Brittingham finished 5-of-12 from the field, hitting two three pointers and added a team-high five assists. This is her second double-double of the season, both of those coming inside the friendly confines of the CPC and marks the fourth time in four games she has registered double digits in the score column to start her UTA career.
Nya Threatt posted a new career high with 13 points on 4-of-9 from the floor while draining two three pointers and dishing out two assists and garnering one steal in 30 minutes of action.
Taliyah Clark chipped in with 13 points, her best outing in a Lady Mavs uniform. Adela Valkova chimed in with nine points and
Hannah Humphrey finished with eight.
A 4-for-15 first half put the Lady Mavs in a seven-point hole, 17-10, heading into the second quarter. The Lady Mavs would go on to shoot 50-percent from the field in the second quarter, putting up 22 points and holding the Roadrunners to 15 to head into the half knotted up at 32 points apiece.
The Roadrunners would go on a 9-0 run with 4:43 left remaining in third quarter to put UTSA up by six, a lead they would never relinquish. In the fourth, UTSA found themselves up 10, the largest lead of the game for either team.
All-in-all, there were nine lead changes and six ties throughout the contest with both teams evenly matched throughout the stat sheet besides in the rebound department, where the Roadrunners outrebounded the Lady Mavs 46-30.

The Lady Mavs will hit the road again as they travel to Moraga, Calif. for the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic. UTA will take on Illinois State on Friday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m. CT and turn around and battle North Carolina A&T on Friday, Nov. 25, at 3 p.m. CT.
