Lee Drops Career High 18, Lady Mavs Fall To #8 Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. – The UT Arlington women's basketball team (1-8, 0-2 WAC) fell on the road to the 8th ranked Colorado Buffaloes (9-1, 0-0 PAC 12) by a final score of 95-74.
 
Keiori Lee had a career game off the bench for the Lady Mavs, leading the charge with 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field and 1-of-2 from deep while also hitting 5-of-6 from the free throw line in 22 minutes of action. Lee also pulled down one rebound, dished out one assist while garnering one steal and one block and committing no fouls.
 
Gia Adams finished with 15 points with five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 34 minutes. Avery Brittingham put up 10 points on 3-of-5 from the floor while corralling six rebounds, just four shy of her fifth double-double of the season. She also tied her season highs of two blocks and three steals. Taliyah Clark finished the contest with 11 points and grabbing six boards and picking up one block.
 
The Lady Mavs bench outscored the Buffs 30-26. UTA forced Colorado into 16 turnovers and we're able to score 10 points off those turnovers while Colorado forced the Lady Mavs to turn the ball over 15 times and scored 18 points off those turnovers. The Buffs put up 38 points in the paint.
 
UTA went toe-to-toe with #8 Colorado in the first quarter, trailing by six points as the second quarter started. The Buffs extended their lead to double digits with five minutes left in the half, and UTA could not trim it any further as every time they made a run, Colorado would respond almost immediately. Colorado would go up by as much as 29 in the second half before winning by 21.
 
For the game, Colorado shot .468-percent from the floor compared to UTA's .426-percent. The Lady Mavs outshot the Buffs from deep, .471-percent compared to .419-percent, as well as from the free throw line with UTA shooting .737-percent from the charity stripe compared to Colorado's .667-percent.
 
NEXT UP
The Lady Mavs have an 10-day break before returning to action on Saturday, December16, as they travel to Huntsville to take on former conference foe Sam Houston at the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. central time.
