WICHITA, Kan.-- The UT Arlington women's tennis (3-1) team suffered their first loss of the season 4-0 against Wichita State on Saturday.
 
The Mavericks were unable to overcome the Shockers in doubles play. Tara Gorinsek and Ana Paula Jimenez fell 6-3 on Court 1. Liz Chileno and Sarina Reinertsen followed, dropping the next match on Court 2 with a close score of 7-5.
 
In singles action, the Mavericks struggled to come back from the early deficit, going 0-3 in singles matches. Bruna Casasampere could not overcome Theodora Chantava on Court 4, losing 6-3, 6-2. Gorinsek was next to fall with a 7-5, 6-3 loss on Court 3, putting the Mavericks at 0-2 for that match.
 
Sarina Reinertsen suffered a 6-2, 6-3 loss to Lingwei Kong on Court 2, which gave the Shockers the final point.
 
The Mavericks will be back in action Friday against Cameron at 2 p.m. at the UTA Tennis Center.
