ARLINGTON, Texas– The UT Arlington men's tennis team (2-3) is ready for a series of home matches at the UTA Tennis Center. They are set to face Cameron at 11 a.m. Saturday and Collin College at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Mavericks lost a tough battle against UTSA in their last match. With a final score of 4-3, they fell one point short of defeating the Roadrunners.
Freshman
Lachlan Robertson earned his first singles win as a Maverick on Court 6 with a 6-2, 7-6 win.
Joan Torres Espinosa and
Anton Shepp also improved their season records, with two three-set wins on Courts 4 and 1. They hold the strongest singles records on the team, both at 4-1 for the spring season.
In doubles action, the team is 1-4 in winning the doubles point for the season, and is looking to improve that record in the upcoming matches.
SCOUTING CAMERON
The Aggies are 1-1 for the spring season, with their third match of the season against UTA. The Mavericks hold an 18-0 record over the Aggies. Their last match was in 2022, with the Mavs winning 5-2.
SCOUTING COLLIN COLLEGE
The Cougars hold a 0-4 record for the spring season. This will be the first meeting between the Mavericks and the Cougars.
