ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington baseball team fell to Dallas Baptist Tuesday night at Globe Life Field in 7 innings by a final score of 14-3.
The Mavericks used a total of 5 pitchers on the night.
Cade McGlade (L, 0-1) was tapped as the starter, going 1.2 innings before being pulled due to injury. McGlade gave up 6 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks.
Jack Hagan came in relief for McGlade, going 2.0 innings and surrendering 7 runs on 7 hits and 1 strikeout.
Thomas Kuykendall saw his first action of the season in relief of Hagan, going 1.1 innings, giving up no runs and no hits to go along with 1 walk.
Gray Bailey tossed a inning, striking out 2 and giving up no runs.
Gage Singer wrapped it up for the Mavs, giving up 1 run and walking 1.
Offensively, the Mavericks collected 7 hits as a team.
Garrison Berkley led of the home half of the 1st inning with a double for his only hit of the contest.
Ryan Black led UTA with 2 hits and scoring a run.
Tyson Pointer and
Ben Lumsden each drove in 1 run for the Mavs on 1 hit each respectively.
Matt Cavanagh and
Cason Gregory each chipped in with 1 hit apiece, rounding out the offensive output for UTA.
Dallas Baptist scored 7 runs in the 2nd inning and 6 in the 4th, with UTA responding with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the 4th.
The Mavs would add 1 more run in the bottom of the 6th with DBU responding with a run of their own in the top of the 7th to round out the scoring for the night.
UP NEXT
The Mavericks have a quick turnaround as they travel to Fort Worth on Wednesday to take on the 8th ranked TCU Horned Frogs. First pitch is slated for 6 pm.
