INSIDE THE LINEUP

  • Freshman Madison Le in one of two Mavericks that have competed in every single tournament this season and currently holds the best scoring average among the team of 76.11. Le is coming off her best finish so far this year as she tied for 7th place at the Islander Classic in Corpus Christi (Feb. 20-21) with rounds of 73-79-83. She is the only player on the UTA squad to have three rounds of even-par.

  • Hannah Choi is the other Mav, along with Le, that has played in all six events of the 2022-23 season. The senior sits on a scoring average of 79.83 after tabbing her best performance at the Islander Classic where she tied for 13th.

  • Kamri Gabel is competing in her fourth tournament of her freshman campaign as she holds a 78.50 average. The freshman's low round of 73 has come from the first fall event at the USA Intercollegiate. Gabel turned in her best finish in Corpus Christi in late February with a T-25 finish.

  • Freshman Ana Rodriguez will be making her first appearance in head coach Catherine Matranga's lineup this spring after her last outing at the Ozarks National Invitational back in October. Rodriguez tied for 36th at Sam Houston's Bearkat Invitational which proved to be the best finish so far this season.

  • Spring transfer Emilynn Tran will be competing in her first event as a UTA Maverick as she looks to make an impact to help improve the Mavs' overall team scoring average of 311.11.

NEXT UP
The Mavericks will be right back on the course next week for South Alabama's three-day Bama Beach Bash in Gulf Shores, Ala. beginning Sunday, Mar. 19 from Gulf Shores Golf Club.
