INSIDE THE SCORES
Choi
- Choi led with a 1st-round 76 as her play was fairly steady with just a few hiccups coming on 8, 9, 13 and 15. The senior was one of two Mavericks who didn't put anything higher than a bogey on her card.
- The senior started her second round on hole 9 as she played the back side – her front side – in +3 with a trio of bogeys on 10, 13, and 17. Choi produced a 39 over the closing nine with her only birdie of the round coming two, settling for a 2nd-round 78.
Le
- Le started HCU Husky Invitational play on hole 9 and shot in +2 through her first nine holes with back-to-back birdies on 11 and 12. After a bogey on 18 before making the turn, the freshman's final holes were clean of any mishaps before an unfortunate double led to a 77.
- The freshman's momentum slowed down from Monday's first round as she capped a 2nd-round 80. Le's round consisted of two doubles, five bogeys, nine pars and one birdie – which came on hole 1.
Gabel
- Gabel struggled in her opening round as several bogeys prevented her from gaining any momentum, settling for an 83.
- The Texas native cleaned up her play by a few shots coming away with a 2nd-round 79. Gabel's card featured one triple, one double, three bogeys, 12 pars and one birdie – on hole 3.
Rodriguez
- Rodriguez had a hard time gaining any momentum in Monday's first round as she settled for an 84. The freshman's round consisted of several big numbers that were too much to overcome.
- Fellow freshman Ana Rodriguez started her day off on the 10th hole and produced a 41 on the back nine – her front nine – with a birdie on 14. Rodriguez played the closing nine in +10 to cap the round of 82. However, she would be able to roll her second birdie of the round on 3.
Tran
- Newcomer Emilynn Tran shot in +2 through the first five holes after starting on hole 11. However, Tran's play slowed back as multiple hiccups derailed her momentum, capping the round of 89.
- Tran improved her performance from the opening round by seven shots as she turned in a 2nd-round 82. The freshman's round featured a triple, three doubles, three bogeys and two birdies coming on 5 and 16.
