ARLINGTON, Texas– The UT Arlington men's tennis team (6-4) is set to travel to College Station on Monday to face No. 49 ranked Texas A&M at 6 p.m. at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
The Mavericks are scheduled to face Lamar on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the UTA Tennis Center before facing the Aggies.
The Mavs are currently 0-4 in road matches and are looking to improve that record Monday.
Anton Shepp holds the most wins on the team with an 8-2 record as the primary No. 1 player.
Joan Torres Espinosa holds a 7-3 record, with wins on Courts 2, 3 and 4.
Shepp and
Solano Caffarena have been a strong doubles team on Court 1, with five consecutive wins before a loss to No. 1 ranked TCU.
Freshman duo
Santiago Giamichelle and
Dante Teramo have also seen success in doubles play, posting a 3-1 record on Courts 2 and 3.
SCOUTING TEXAS A&M
The Aggies hold a 4-6 record going into Monday's match. Raphael Perot holds a 5-2 singles record with wins on Courts 1 and 2. Noah Schachter has been the primary No. 1 player for the Aggies, posting a 5-2 record for the season. Trey Hilderbrand (2-4) is ranked at No. 92 in the nation according to the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, along with Pierce Rollins (4-4) who is ranked 105. The Mavericks are 0-7 against the Aggies after their last meeting in 2022.
