ARLINGTON, Texas– The UT Arlington men's tennis team (7-5) is set to face Furman on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the UTA Tennis Center.
 
The Mavericks are coming off a 7-0 sweep over Lamar and a 4-0 loss to Texas A&M. They look to continue their winning streak at home, winning five consecutive matches at the UTA Tennis Center.
 
Solano Caffarena and Anton Shepp still hold the most wins as a doubles team at 9-2. The duo took down the Aggies on Court 2, defeating Giulio Perego and Kenner Taylor 6-2.
 
Shepp maintains the most singles wins for the Mavs as the primary No. 1 player. He holds a 9-2 record, with losses to New Mexico and No. 1 ranked TCU. He has defeated opponents from Lamar, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and No. 42 ranked UTSA.
 
Joan Torres Espinosa holds a 7-4 record with wins on Courts 3 and 4. This includes a win over No. 42 UTSA, taking down Danijal Muminovic in a deciding set.
 
Freshmen Santiago Giamichelle and Lachlan Robertson both hold 6-3 singles records for the season. Both are coming off straight set wins over Lamar.
 
SCOUTING FURMAN
The Paladins hold a 4-9 record for the spring season. This will be the first meeting between UTA and Furman. Doubles team Jerry Barton and Elijah Poritsky are ranked No. 66 in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. The duo holds an 8-3 record with wins over Tulane and Georgia Tech.
