WAC Announces Winter Sports Academic Honorees

ARLINGTON – Western Athletic Conference officials on Thursday announced the 2022-23 Academic All-WAC honorees for winter sports, with UT Arlington placing 10 student-athletes on the list.

Women's indoor track and field led the way with seven selections, while men's indoor track and field had two and men's basketball one member.

To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year at UTA, possess at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests this season.

First-year student-athletes who meet the other criteria but have not yet been at UTA for a full year will be eligible for the WAC's end-of-year release.

Those 10 join six UTA volleyball student-athletes who were named to the WAC's Fall Sports list: Kaylen Beaty, Mollie Blank, Meredith Fisher, Brianna Ford, Devon Martinka and Alli Wells.
