OREM, Utah – The UT Arlington women's basketball team (7-8, 3-2 WAC) fought off a late run from Utah Valley (5-9, 0-5 WAC) on Thursday night to earn a 72-64 win on the road inside the UCCU Center.
With the win, the Lady Mavs pushed their win streak to six games, their longest streak since the 2021-2022 season.
Adéla Válková stayed red hot to lead the Lady Mavs offensively, dropping 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting. This marks the sixth game in a row that she has posted double figures in scoring, and seventh time overall this season. Válková notched a career-high five blocks, giving her 23 for the year. She finished with a team-high eight rebounds, two steals and one assist.
Avery Brittingham chipped in with 17 points, her second highest point total for the season. Brittingham tied her career-high with five steals, first time since 2021 she's swiped that many and third time overall for her career. She pulled down seven rebounds and finished with three assists.
In 34 minutes of action,
Gia Adams added 10 points while grabbing four boards and dishing out two assists to go along with two steals.

As a team, the Lady Mavs finished with 15 steals, the most they've swiped in a game this season. They scored 31 points off of Utah Valley turnovers and finished with 34 points in the paint.
UTA led the majority of the game despite three ties and nine lead changes, which all came in the first half of play. A pull up jumper from
Hannah Humphrey with 9:30 left to go in the second quarter gave the Lady Mavs the lead, a lead they would never surrender.
The Lady Mavs would push their lead to as much as 17 points. The Wolverines would not go away quietly, as they chipped away at the UTA lead and would get it down to six on three separate occasions in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Mavs responded each time.
