HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – Led by a 1st-round 72 from junior
Nitisha Manikandesh, the UT Arlington women's golf team turned in an opening-round team total of 300 at Little Rock's Diamante Intercollegiate on Sunday, Oct. 20 from Diamante Country Club.
Manikandesh has improved to four rounds of even par of better so far this season as teammate
Kamri Gabel paced UTA's lineup with five birdies across Sunday's opening round.
The Mavs will look to make a jump in the leader board heading into Monday as the squad sits just two shots shy from top-10 contention.

Manikandesh
- Manikandesh played the first nine holes +1 with one birdie on 11 and a pair of bogeys on 12 and 15. The junior was able to get her card back down to even courtesy of her second birdie on hole 1 as she recorded eight-consecutive pars to close out the round.
Bhoga
- After double-bogeying her opening hole, Bhoga produced a 38 (+2) on the back nine – her front nine – with one birdie on 17. The freshman went on to birdie hole 3 before rolling a pair of bogeys across the closing five holes to cap the round of 75.
Gabel
- Gabel logged an opening-round 76 as her card featured five birdies – most of the Mavs -, seven bogeys, one double, and five pars.
Gulhane
- Gulhane struggled to settle in as several bogeys prevented her from gaining any momentum. However, the sophomore was able to record one birdie across Sunday's first round which came on hole 17.

UTA will commence the second round of the Diamante Intercollegiate on Monday, Oct. 21 from Diamante Country Club.
