McALLEN, Texas – After a month off from competition, the UT Arlington women's golf team will gear up for UT Rio Grande Valley's two-day Vaquero Invitational beginning Monday, Mar. 4 from McAllen Country Club.
This will be UTA's second spring event and seventh overall after the squad opened the 2024 season at the Texas State Invitational back in early February. There, the Mavs tied for 5th overall as sophomore
Madison Le finished 5th individually.
In the seventh year as an established program, this will mark the first time the Mavericks will compete in UTRGV's event and first time playing at McAllen Country Club.

LE
- Sophomore Madison Le looks to continue her strong play on the course after tabbing her best finish of the season at the spring-opener, Texas State Invitational (Feb. 5-6). There, the Mansfield product collected rounds of 72-73-74 and logged her seventh round of under-par or better of the year and 10th in her career. Le currently leads the Mavs with a 74.5 scoring average.
GULHANE
- Nirjara Gulhane will make her fifth appearance in head coach Catherine Matranga's lineup this year as she holds a 78.0 average across 11 rounds played. So far, Gulhane's best round of 75 has come from the very first event of the fall, Utah Valley's Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational.
MANIKANDESH
- Sophomore Nitisha Manikandesh has played in five events so far this season and recorded a low round of 72 back in Provo, Utah. Manikandesh's best finish was T-27 at Sam Houston's Bearkat Invitational (Sept. 25-26) as she turned in rounds of 75-80. The event was shortened to 36 holes due to inclement weather.
GABEL
- Kamri Gabel opened the spring season with a 1st-round 71 at the Texas State Invitational as she tabbed a T-24 finish. The sophomore has logged three rounds of under-par or better on the year, sitting on a 77.0 scoring average.
CHOI
- Fifth year Hannah Choi holds a 78.4 average with her best outing coming from the Bearkat Invite. Choi recorded consecutive low rounds at the Diamante Intercollegiate that led to an impressive 217 (+1) 54-hole total.

The Mavericks will take a month off from competition before making their way to McAllen, Texas to play in UTRGV's Vaqueros Invitational beginning Mar. 4 from McAllen Country Club.
