AUSTIN, TEXAS – The UT Arlington Maverick baseball team dropped its midweek game against the Texas Longhorns 11-0 at the UFCU Disch-Falk Field this Tuesday.
GAME FLOW
The Longhorns struck first in the bottom of the 1st inning, taking hold of the game with an early two-run lead and extended its lead to 5-0 after a run was scored in the bottom of the 2nd inning and two more scoring in the bottom of the 3rd inning.
Throughout innings 4 through 6, the Longhorns continued to score by roping in 3 more runs to increase its lead to 8-0 by the end of the 6th inning.
The Longhorns scored another run in the 7th inning to increase its lead to 9-0
PITCHING PROFILE
The Mavs utilized 8 different pitchers in the game while
Aaron Calhoun was tabbed as the starter for the 10th time this season. He was able to pitch for 2.0 innings and allowed 4 hits and managed to ring up 2 batters on strikes.
Sam Collins came in for an inning and was able to record his first strikeout of the season and allowed 2 hits in the 5 batters he faced.
Jason Scrantom and
Jacob Hasty each picked up a strikeout in their lone inning, with both of their strikeouts coming with two outs in play to escape the inning.
