ARLINGTON, Texas – As UT Arlington student-athletes achieved championship success in competition, the foundation was laid in the classroom.
In the spring of 2024, more than 140 student-athletes attained at least a 3.0 or better grade point average. A total of 149 student-athletes earned a 3.0 or better, with 24 students finishing with a 4.0 for the semester.
As a collective, UT Arlington student-athletes combined for a 3.031 grade point average in the Spring 2024 semester. Of the 11 athletics units, nine teams earned at least a 2.8 GPA during Spring 2024, led by men's tennis with a 3.499 GPA, just ahead of women's tennis with a 3.455 GPA.
Those teams were followed by softball (3.232), women's volleyball (3.164), men's golf (3.024), baseball (3.014), men's basketball (2.883), women's track and field (2.876) and women's golf (2.833).
For the 2023-24 academic year, UT Arlington student-athletes combined for a 3.052 grade point average, with 44 students earning degrees. This is the 21st semester in a row that the athletic department held a cumulative department GPA above a 3.0. Combining the fall and spring classroom performances, eight teams attained at least a 2.8 GPA.
