UTA’s Austen Smith Wins Olympic Bronze Medal in Skeet Shooting

PARIS – UT Arlington Aerospace Engineering major Austen Smith brought home the bronze medal on Sunday in skeet shooting in the 2024 Paris Olympics at the Chateauroux Shooting Center.
 
The Keller, Texas, native took home her first Olympic medal, hitting a total of 45 targets on Sunday. Highlights from Smith's performance are available here, while her medal presentation can be seen here, both courtesy of NBC Sports.
 
She will have another medal opportunity in the mixed skeet shooting event on Monday, paired with four-time Olympic gold medalist and her coach, Vincent Hancock. That qualifying round (2 a.m. CT) and final (8 a.m. CT) both take place on Monday. The final round will be streamed live on NBCOlympics.com.
