ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team (0-1) is set to bounce back from their season opening loss to No. 10 Oklahoma when they host Pepperdine (0-1) in their home opener on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 1 p.m.
The match was originally scheduled to take place at the UTA Tennis Center but will now be held at the indoor courts at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on the campus of SMU due to the projected bad and freezing weather hitting North Texas.
Daniel Pérez-Caraballo and
Mattia Ricci both made the Maverick debuts in the match against the Sooners. They both saw action in doubles play while Ricci played on Court 5 in singles action while Pérez-Caraballo competed on Court 6 for the Mavs.
Returners
Pedro Sasso,
Meethre Barot,
Andres Medus and
Yazid Lahjomri all saw action in doubles play along with singles play. Sasso competed on Court 1, Barot on Court 2, Medus on Court 3 and Lahjomri on Court 4 in their first action of the season.
SCOUTING PEPPERDINE
Pepperdine dropped their opening match on Saturday, Jan. 18, to UC Irvine in a tightly contested match, falling by a score of 4-3. This will be the first ever matchup between the two programs.
