STEPHENVILLE, TX --The UT Arlington volleyball team fell to the Tarleton State Texans 3-2 (22-25, 27-25, 25-20, 23-25, 8-15) Thursday on the road at Wisdom Gym.
The loss dropped UT Arlington's record to 9-5 overall and 1-1 in WAC play.
The Mavericks offense was paced by Camryn McMinn, who finished with 18 kills on the day, and by Sophia Krichev, who had 13 while hitting .458. Defensively, had four players reach double figures in digs, highlighted by Mira Ledermueller's 12, 12 from Samantha Glenn, and 12 more from Jalie Tritt. From the front row, Krichev contributed six blocks.

How It Happened
SET 1 | Despite a pinpoint serving effort, the Mavericks dropped the first set 25-22. UT Arlington recorded five aces in the set loss.
SET 2 | UT Arlington rallied from a first-set loss to take set two 27-25, evening the match at one set apiece. The Mavericks came out on top of a close second set, winning in a stanza that was tied six times and had three lead changes. The UT Arlington offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza. UT Arlington's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Tarleton State attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | UT Arlington built on that second-set success with a victory in set number three to open up a lead at two sets to one. The Mavericks the set the third set 25-20. UT Arlington took the lead for good at 17-16after coming back from a two-point deficit, the Texans largest lead of the set. This came in a set that featured 10 ties and five lead changes. UT Arlington's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Tarleton State attacks in the stanza.
SET 4 | UT Arlington couldn't keep the win streak alive, as the Texans forced a fifth set with a 25-23 fourth-set win. The Mavericks serving was deadly in the set, as UT Arlington recorded five aces in a losing effort.
SET 5 | UT Arlington took a lead of two sets to one before losing the final two sets, including a 15-8 loss in the fifth set. The Mavericks dropped the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way.
