ARLINGTON, Texas – UTA senior forward
Raysean Seamster was named to the WAC Preseason Team, as voted on by the league's seven head coaches.
The Portland, Oregon, native is entering his second season in Arlington after making the decision to return to the Mavericks during the offseason. Seamster made 30 appearances, 29 of which were starts, in his first season in Arlington. He averaged 11.4 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per contest last season, scoring in double figures a team-high 23 times.
A leader as one of two scholarship returners for the Mavs, Seamster is an incredibly versatile wing who made an impact immediately upon his arrival in Arlington. He scored 15 or more points on seven occasions in 2024-25, including a career-high 29 on 9-of-11 shooting in a home win over California Baptist on Feb. 13. In addition to his 29 point scoring output in that contest, Seamster also pulled down eight boards in the victory.
The Mavericks were picked by the league's head coaches to finish fourth in the WAC in the upcoming season, receiving one first place vote.
