ARLINGTON, Texas – Freshman
Dorcas Jepkosgei has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the third consecutive week as announced by the conference on Monday.
Jepkosgei collected her second top two finish of the season in record-breaking fashion at Arkansas' highly touted Chile Pepper Festival this past Saturday, turning in a new 5k all-time best of 16:09.5 in UTA program history.
The newcomer has racked up two second place finishes and one first place finish so far this season which came from the Texas A&M Invitational three weeks ago.
Jepkosgei and the Mavericks will return to action with the final meet of the regular season on Friday, Oct. 17 with Texas A&M's Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station.
