Lady Mavs Hit the Road to Start December with a Bout Against the Little Rock Trojans

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The UT Arlington women's basketball team is set to return to action following the short Thanksgiving break when they take on the Little Rock Trojans on Tuesday, December 2, from inside the Jack Stephens Center at 7 p.m. CT.

The Lady Mavs are coming off a 2-1 showing at the Hawaii North Shore Showcase where they defeated Texas A&M and VCU and are looking for their first three-game win streak of the 2025-26 campaign.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 21st overall meeting between the two programs with Little Rock holding a 12-8 edge in the all-time series. The former Sun Belt Conference foes meet for the first time since February 2022. The Trojans will join the United Athletic Conference, which is the WAC rebranded, on July 1, 2026. The first ever matchup in the series dates back to November 2004. The Lady Mavs currently hold a two-game win streak in the series, their fourth two-game win streak in the all-time series. UTA is 6-4 in their last 10 games against Little Rock and hold a 4-6 overall road record in the series.

SCOUTING LITTLE ROCK
The Trojans enter the game with a 2-4 overall record and are winners of their last game, a 51-37 victory over San Diego back on November 29. As a team, the Trojans average 62.8 points per contest while holding opponents to an average of 62.2 points per game. Little Rock shoots 38.3-percent from the floor, 26.6-percent from deep and 67.9-percent from the charity stripe through six games. The Trojans are led by Jordan Holman who averages 17.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest. Holman also leads Little Rock on the defensive end with 14 total steals and five blocks.

WE GOT SHOOTERS
The Lady Mavs are one of the better shooting three-point teams in the conference despite taking the least amount of attempts, averaging a league-low 12.6 attempts per game. Despite the amount, the Lady Mavs sit second in the league in three-point percentage, converting 34.7-percent of their attempts, coming in ranked 73rd in the NCAA.

UTA is coming off one of their best three-point clinics in recent memory, drilling 10 of 15 attempts at home against Wyoming. It's the most made in a game since hitting 11 back on March 7, 2024 at California Baptist. The Lady Mavs on two occasions last season hit nine, once against Wiley and the other time coming on the road at Utah Tech.

The last home game against Tennessee State, the Lady Mavs followed their 10 made three point barrage against the Lady Tigers, drilling seven more to make that 17 three pointers in their last two home games. In their first two games of the season, the Lady Mavs only hit four of their 17 three point attempts.

At the Hawaii North Shore Showcase, the Lady Mavs connected on 13 three-point attempts through three games.

WE DEFEND THE THREE-POINT LINE ALSO!
The Lady Mavs defend the three-point shot extremely well, holding opponents to 16.7-percent through eight games on the season. This is the top mark in the conference and the best mark in the nation.

UTA held Wyoming and Houston to under 20-percent with the Lady Mavs holding the Cowgirls to just 15.4-percent (2-of-13) and to start the year at Houston, UTA held the Cougars to just 7.1-percent (1-of-14). Her three double-doubles on the year have her tied for the top mark in the league as well as for 27th nationally.

BENCH MOB
The Lady Mavs boast one of the best benches in the WAC, with the bench averaging an impressive 24.8 points per game which is the third best mark in the conference.

STILL THROWING A BLOCK PARTY
The Lady Mavs were one of the better shot blocking teams in the WAC last season and that is still setting up to be the trend this season as UTA averages a shade over five blocks per game, coming in at 5.1 per contest which is the fourth best mark in the WAC and the 35th best mark nationally.

Freshman Kira Reynolds leads the charge for the Lady Mavs, coming in with 26 total blocks for an average of 3.25 blocks per game. A total of six of the 12 players on the roster have recorded a block on the season. As a team, the Lady Mavs have 41 blocked shots on the young season while opponents have only managed 13 blocks against UTA.

JOIN IN ON THE FUN
Last time out against VCU, everyone who touched the floor for the Lady Mavs recorded at least one point and one rebound for the first time this season.

20 PIECE, NO BBQ SAUCE

NO LIMIT VETERAN
Senior point guard Nya Threatt is coming into her newfound role as the leader of the team as the most experienced player on the team with 65 starts under her belt. She is coming off a career night where she dropped a new career best 21 points in front of a homecoming crowd inside the CPC. She currently sits second on the Lady Mavs averaging 11.3 points per game to go along with a team-high 21 assists and nine steals in seven games for the point guard.
