MONTGOMERY, Texas – UT Arlington's men's golf played rounds one and two of the Bentwater Intercollegiate, hosted by Sam Houston from the Bentwater Country Club in Montgomery, Texas, on Monday. Ethan Miller led the way for the Mavs across the two rounds and is at +5 following an even-par round two. Jerry Huang is right behind his teammate at +6 and also fired an even-par 71 in the second round of play.
Miller eagled No. 1 in the second round and birdied five times across the two rounds, including three in the second. He birdied holes No. 7 and No. 16 in the first round, and Nos. 8, 9 and 13 in round two. He parred 18 holes, nine apiece in each round.
Huang, who was competing in his first event in the team lineup (he competed as an individual last week at the Vaqueros Intercollegiate), birdied four times, all in the second round. He did so on holes No. 1, No. 7, No. 12 and No. 15, while parring 24 holes (13 in round one and 11 in the second round).
The third and final round is still scheduled for an 8 a.m. CT start on Tuesday, however that may be affected by inclement weather.
