SUGAR LAND, Texas – Junior
Kamri Gabel led the UT Arlington women's golf team with rounds of 71 and 75 following day one of Houston Christian's Riverbend Intercollegiate on Monday, Mar. 10 from Riverbend Country Club.
Gabel posted her fifth round of par or better on the year with a 1st-round 71. The Texas native is tied for 6th with a 3.90 par 4 scoring average as she leads the 79-player field in par 5s. Currently, Gabel is in top-10 contention, just +2 for the tournament.
As a team, UTA put up a 598 36-hole total with rounds of 300 and 298. The Mavericks rank 3rd in par 4s and par 5s as the four-player lineup compiled 45 pars and eight birdies. The Mavs will look to make a jump in the team leader board, sitting just one shot shy of 3rd place and five shots from Abilene Christian in 5th place.
