PHOENIX - Junior
Nitisha Manikandesh led the UT Arlington women's golf team with a 1st-round 71 on Monday following day one of the Western Athletic Conference Championship.
Manikandesh tied for the second-best par 3 scoring average with Tarleton's Darianys Guzman while UTA ranked at the top in par 4s with a 4.05 average. The Mavericks are currently tied for 2nd place with California Baptist after turning in a 295-team total. UTA looks to make moves heading into Tuesday's second round as the team sits just one shot shy of 1st.
