FORT WORTH, Texas --The UT Arlington Mavericks came up short, losing to the TCU Horned Frogs by the score of 3-1.
Junior Caden Cline (1-1) took the loss on the mound for UT Arlington (16-25). Sophomore Kyle Winkler was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit, walking none and striking out one.
At the plate, the Mavericks were led by junior Xavier Melendez, who went 1-for-4 on the day with an RBI. Sophomore Jackson Hill put together a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-1 with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 3-0, the Mavericks first put runs on the board in the ninth inning. Hill came across to score the lone run of the inning for UT Arlington and get them on the board. The ballgame ended with that ninth inning rally falling short.

The Mavs will host the Utah Valley Wolverines in a conference series from May 2-4 before hosting DBU in the final midweek matchup of the season, on May 6.
