ARLINGTON – With the season fast approaching, the UT Arlington men's and women's cross country teams have announced the 2025 schedule.
The Mavericks are slated to participate in five meets this fall season ahead of the 2025 Western Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships. UTA will host one regular season meet along with being the host site of the conference championships.
UTA will open the season on the road as they will travel to Fort Worth for the John McKenzie Invitational hosted by TCU on Friday, August 29. This will be the third straight year the Mavs have kicked off the season in Cowtown.
The Mavs will return to Arlington on Friday, September 5, for the annual Gerald Richey UTA Invitational. The meet has moved from Lynn Creek Park at Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie to Harold Patterson Sports Complex in Arlington.
UTA will face stern competition in their next three events with two trips down to College Station beginning with the Texas A&M Invitational on Saturday, September 13. The Mavs will return to action in three weeks on Saturday, October 4, when they will travel to Fayetteville for Arkansas' massive Chile Pepper Festival which features some of the top teams in the nation. UTA will wrap up the regular season with a return trip to College Station for the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Friday, October 17.
UTA will be the host site for the WAC Cross Country Championships which is set for Friday, October 31. This is the first time since 1992 that UTA has hosted a cross country conference championship and their first time ever doing so in the WAC.
The NCAA South Central Regional will be hosted by Arkansas in Fayetteville and is slated for Friday, November 14. The NCAA Championships will take place on Saturday, November 22, and will be hosted by Missouri in Columbia.
