ARLINGTON, TX --The UT Arlington volleyball team fell to the North Texas Mean Green in five sets (25-23, 18-25, 25-23, 25-27, 7-15) Sunday at home at College Park Center.
The non-conference loss moved UT Arlington to 8-1 on the season.
The Mavericks were led by a double-double from Jalie Tritt, who registered 14 kills and 11 digs on the day. Sophia Krichev also added 13 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Samantha Glenn chipped in for with 25 digs to go with five blocks from Alexis Bull.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Mavericks survived a back-and-forth first set to win 25-23 in a stanza that featured five lead changes and was tied 11 times. Neither team led by more than four points in the match. The Mavericks opening set win came in a stanza where 17 of their 25 points came via the kill.
SET 2 | UT Arlington dropped the second set 25-18 to tie the match 1-1. The Mavericks fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | UT Arlington put the second-set loss behind and took a 2-1 match lead with a victory in set three. The Mavericks persevered in a back-and-forth set to win 25-23 in a stanza that featured two lead changes and was tied 12 times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than four points along the way. The UT Arlington offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
SET 4 | UT Arlington couldn't finish off a four-set win as the Mean Green forced a fifth set with a 27-25 victory. The Mavericks fought back from a seven-point deficit at 10-3, but it wasn't enough as North Texas hung on to win the set.
SET 5 | UT Arlington and North Texas went back and forth all game, trading wins in the first three sets until the Mean Green took the last two sets, including winning the fifth set 15-7, and the match. The Mavericks fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way.
