ARLINGTON, Texas — The University of Texas at Arlington Athletics Department has experienced significant philanthropic growth in recent years, with overall fundraising increasing by 800 percent since the 2022-23 academic year and nearly $9 million raised over the last 18 months.
The growth includes three consecutive years of record fundraising and reflects the continued support of donors, alumni and supporters who have invested in the future of Maverick student-athletes and athletics programs.
"We want to thank our donors. Their support has been fantastic," UTA Director of Athletics Jon Fagg said. "Over the last several years, they have stepped up and supported us in a huge way. We really appreciate them. Their belief in our student-athletes and our vision for UTA Athletics has made a tremendous difference."
UTA Athletics set a department fundraising record for the third consecutive year during the 2025-26 fiscal year, raising nearly $5 million in support of Maverick student-athletes and programs.
The continued growth comes at a time of significant change across college athletics, where fundraising and revenue generation play an increasingly important role in supporting student-athletes and athletics programs.
To begin the 2026-27 academic year, UTA Athletics hosted the Maverick Blueprint, a philanthropic-focused event designed to share the department's vision and provide supporters with opportunities to invest in the future of Maverick Athletics.
Supporters responded with commitments that will help strengthen resources for student-athletes and athletics programs while advancing the department's long-term priorities.
Funds generated through recent fundraising efforts will support four key areas:
·      Student-Athlete Nutrition – Supporting the health, wellness and performance needs of student-athletes.
·      Championship Facilities – Enhancing athletics venues and training environments.
·      NIL and Revenue Sharing – Providing resources to help Maverick programs remain competitive in the evolving college athletics landscape.
·      Scholarships – Expanding educational opportunities for UTA student-athletes.
"These are exciting times for Maverick Athletics, and our donors are amazing," said Ira Childress, Deputy Athletics Director for Development and General Manager of Athletics. "The support we received at the Maverick Blueprint event was outstanding. It is like what we've seen over the last three years in terms of fundraising, and we can't thank our donors enough for their support. Their investment will help elevate our program and provide our student-athletes with the resources they need to succeed."
The record-setting fundraising totals reflect continued investment in the future of UTA Athletics and provide resources that support student-athletes both on and off the field of competition.
As UTA Athletics continues to build on its recent momentum, the department remains focused on creating opportunities for student-athletes through the support of its donors, alumni, fans, and community partners.
