ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington clinched its weekend series over Villanova with an 11–3 win on Saturday at Clay Gould Ballpark, using a six-run sixth inning to break open a tight game.

Harold Laracuente delivered the decisive blow, ripping a bases-clearing triple into the gap to score
Austin Phillips,
Caylon Dygert and
Jackson Hill and flip the deficit into a 4–2 lead. Laracuente finished with four RBIs, three extra-base hits and a stolen base out of the leadoff spot to pace the UTA offense.
Center fielder
Xander McAfee sparked the Mavericks early with an RBI double in the second and later added another extra-base hit as part of a multi-hit afternoon in the middle of the order. UTA kept the pressure on with two runs in both the seventh and eighth innings, turning the sixth-inning breakthrough into a comfortable margin.

- Right-hander Kyle Winkler earned the win, working six innings and holding Villanova to two runs on six hits while striking out six.
- Reliever Merek Sears covered the final three frames, allowing one run and closing out the 11–3 victory to secure the series.
