WACO, Texas – The UT Arlington track & field team wrapped up competition at the Clyde Hart Classic, hosted by Baylor, with two first-place finishes and three runner-up performances.
Freshman Arieanna Mcpeak claimed gold in the women's triple jump with a mark of 12.35m, while senior Hayden Wilson secured first place in the men's shot put with a throw 16.70m.
Three Mavericks earned second-place finishes on the day: Christian Coker in the men's javelin (48.55m), Justina Lusby in the women's 3000m steeplechase (11:35.34) and Daniel Armstrong in the men's 800m (1:50.96).
THOUGHTS FROM COACH
"Another solid performance! We are getting closer to doing very well in each area," said Coach Sauerhage, "Throwers continue to lead the way! Esther Shaba had a strong showing in the 100m. Jayden Haynes ran well in the 400m, and Daniel Armstrong performed well in the 800m, along with Arieanna in the triple jump. We are excited about Texas Relays next week to see more elite competition."

The Mavericks continue the outdoor season, as they head to Austin next week for Texas Relays, set to take place Wednesday, April 1 through Saturday, April 4.
