UTA Athletics to Participate in MavsDay on April 22

Athletics department to benefit from university-wide day of giving

ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington Athletics Department will once again be participating in "MavsDay," UTA's annual university-wide day of giving, on Wednesday, April 22.

Each year, UTA's MavsDay brings alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends together as a community in a 24-hour race to fuel scholarships, provide emergency assistance and support the resources that help students thrive. The day allows everyone in the UTA community a chance to support the departments, programs and initiatives that are meaningful to them, including UTA Athletics.

"We are excited to be participating in MavsDay again this year," said Jon Fagg, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. "We have great alignment on this campus, and we are trying to do great things here. People in the community are seeing that, and in turn, are doing great things for us. We have such a generous group of supporters behind us, and we are looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together."

UTA Athletics focuses on preparing student-athletes to be successful in all aspects of their lives by helping them accomplish their academic, athletic, personal and professional goals. The department's mission is to provide competitive resources and first-class facilities and create a college experience that embraces and attracts high-achieving student-athletes, coaches and staff who are centered on a culture of winning and strive for academic achievement.

Gifts to UTA Athletics can be made to the Maverick Club Excellence Fund or a specific UTA Athletics team at this link.

MavsDay kicks off at 12 a.m. (CDT) on April 22, but any gift made through the link prior to MavsDay will also be counted as a qualifying pledge. Giving challenges, which are reciprocated with matching gifts, have also been established to ignite UTA's competitive spirit.

"We are looking to continue to build on the positive growth we've seen in the athletic department," said Ira Childress, Deputy Athletic Director for Development/General Manager of Athletics. "We want to improve our student-athletes' daily experience, and MavsDay will go a long way toward helping us reach our ultimate goals."
