NORMAN, Okla. – The UT Arlington track & field team continues its outdoor season this weekend, traveling to Norman, Okla. for the OU Alumni O'Ring Open Texas Relays at the John Jacobs Track & Field Complex. The Mavericks will compete from Friday, April 24 through Saturday, April 25.
Friday's events begin with the decathlon at 11 a.m. and the heptathlon at noon. The decathlon opens with the 100 meters, while the heptathlon starts with the 100-meter hurdles. Women's javelin kicks off the individual field events at noon, followed by men's javelin at 1:15 p.m. Women's hammer begins at 2:30 p.m. with men's hammer set for 3:45 p.m.
The decathlon and heptathlon will kick off Saturday. The decathlon will start us off at 9 a.m. with the 110mH. The heptathlon will begin at 9:30 a.m. with long jump.
Running events and the remainder of field events will start at noon. Saturday's field events will consist of the men's and women's pole vault, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus and triple jump.
Saturday's track events will open with the men's and women's 4x100-meter relays. The running schedule also includes the men's and women's 1500m, 3000m steeplechase, 110-meter and 110-meter hurdles, 400m, 800m, 400-meter hurdles, 200m, and 5000m.
The meet is expected to conclude around 6:30 p.m. with the men's and women's 4x400-meter relays.
