Zeqian Fang signs with UT Arlington Men's Golf

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington Men's Golf has inked transfer Zeqian Fang for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Fang will be entering his junior year after spending the previous two seasons at Colorado.

The Shenzhen, China native competed in five tournaments this past season — all as an individual. He finished 4-under-par at the Bob Writz Individual and the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational for his best marks of the season.

Fang's performance at the Bob Writz was good enough to earn him his first ever collegiate win. Fang carded a 6-under 66 in the first round — the lowest score of his college career — and held on to beat Colorado Mines' Lukas Taggart by one stroke with a 2-over 74 in the second and final round.

The Shenzhen native also played in three tournaments over the course of his first season at Colorado. His best finish on the leaderboard came at the ASU Papago Individual, where a 5-over 218 earned him a tie for 16th place. His lowest overall score of his freshman year came at The Prestige at PGA West in California, in which he shot a 4-over 217.

Fang played at or below par in four of his nine competitive rounds across his freshman year and in three of his eight rounds during his sophomore season. The Shenzhen native has posted three collegiate rounds in the 60's, two of which came this past season.

In 2024, Fang competed in the DP World Tour's Volvo China Open as an amateur. Fang carded rounds of 70 and 75 for a 1-over 145 at the event, missing the cut by just four shots and finishing as the low amateur of the tournament.
