UTA Women's Golf adds four newcomers to 2026-27 roster

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington Women's Golf's roster for the 2026-27 season is set and the Mavericks are welcoming a host of new players. UTA inked four newcomers, including three transfers and one freshman.

Camilah Porras transfers to UTA for her sophomore season, making the jump to Division I after spending her freshman year at Division II UT-Dallas. The Bulverde native led the Comets in scoring average at 75.74 and finished top 10 in four of the nine tournaments she competed in this past season.

Porras' best finish in both score to par and leaderboard placement came at the 2026 Southern Colorado Open. The then-freshman shot an even-par 72 in both rounds of the 36-hole event, finishing alone in third place individually with an even-par 144 while helping the Comets finish second as a team.

Also transferring to UTA is Chloe De Verner, an incoming junior that spent her first two years with one of the premier NJCAA women's golf programs — Odessa College. She earned an All-America first team selection after the 2024-25 season as a freshman.

De Verner competed for the Wranglers when the team won the NJCAA DI Women's National Championship in 2025. The Monte Carlo, Monaco native finished tied for second individually at the 2025 national championship, finishing only behind teammate Napajira Nami Luesattha.

She also featured in the lineup for Odessa at the 2026 NJCAA DI Women's National Championship. The Wranglers placed second, finishing one stroke back of Daytona State.

Across her two seasons at Odessa, De Verner finished in the top 10 at nine different tournaments. Six of the Monte Carlo native's top-10 finishes came during her freshman season in 2024-25, including her lone individual victory at the Schreiner Women's Shootout. De Verner shot a 1-over 73 in the lone round of the event after the second was canceled.

The third and final transfer joining the Mavericks is Kylie Ruston, who will be entering her junior year this upcoming season.

Ruston also joins UTA after going the junior college route. The Penetanguishene, Ontario native began her collegiate career in the fall of 2024 at North Idaho College where she played in four tournaments. Ruston placed in a tie for seventh at the Run-In at the Ranch, her very first collegiate tournament.

The then-freshman moved on to Tyler Junior College where she spent the spring of 2025 and all of the 2025-26 season. In the first three tournaments with her new team, Ruston finished in the top 10 individually and Tyler won all three events as a team. The Ontario native topped out in fifth place at the Central Women's District Preview.

Over the course of the 2025-26 season, Ruston competed in 25 rounds across 11 tournaments. Ruston finished ranked 69th nationally among NJCAA individual women's golfers according to Scoreboard. The Ontario native earned five top-10 finishes, highlighted by placing fourth at the Texarkana Invitational and the NCTC Spring Invitational.

Joining the three transfers on the Mavericks roster is Raeley Hickman. The Lubbock native is UTA's lone freshman this season.

Hickman competed in various amateur events prior to joining UTA including on the Texas Junior Golf Tour (TJGT), the Legends Junior Tour (LJT), and the Northern Texas PGA (NTPGA) Junior Tour.

Among the highlights for the Lubbock native is a win at the NTPGA Junior Tour's 2025 SA Smith West Texas Junior Invitational. Hickman won the event by eight strokes after carding rounds of 75 and 71 for a 2-over 146 overall. She also won the TJGT's Showdown at Lake Arlington in May.

The four newcomers join returners Nirjara Gulhane and Carmen Gonzalez Lo-A-Njoe on the roster for the 2026-27 season.

UTA is scheduled to compete in 11 tournaments this season — four in the fall and seven in the spring — and will kick off the year with the 2026 Lady Clerico beginning on Sept. 14. The tournament will be hosted by Oral Roberts at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
