ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington Athletics will officially tip off the basketball season with After Dark at the Park, a free fan event featuring the Mavericks men's and women's basketball programs on Friday, Oct. 17, at the MAC Outdoor Courts on the UTA campus.

The event on Friday, Oct. 17, will begin at 7 p.m. and is open to all fans, students, alumni, and members of the Arlington community. Admission and parking are free. After Dark at the Park coincides with Family Weekend with a packed schedule of UTA Athletics events for Mavericks to enjoy.

Located at 500 W. Nedderman Drive, Arlington, Texas 76013, After Dark at the Park will provide attendees with an opportunity to get a first look at the 2026-27 Mavericks basketball teams while enjoying an evening of entertainment and interactive activities.

The event will feature team introductions for both the men's and women's basketball programs, along with games, music from a live DJ, an emcee, autograph sessions, food, and additional fan experiences throughout the night. Members of the UTA Spirit Squad and UTA Band will also make appearances to help create an exciting atmosphere as the Mavericks prepare for the upcoming season.

After Dark at the Park serves as UTA Athletics' official basketball tip-off celebration and offers fans a chance to connect with student-athletes, coaches, and fellow Mavericks supporters before the start of the 2026-27 campaign.
