ARLINGTON, Texas — Basketball fans, families and community members are invited to attend Hoops for the City on Saturday, Sept. 5, from 3-7 p.m. at Arlington ISD Arena (1001 E. Division St.).

The free community event will bring together basketball, food, and entertainment for an afternoon designed for guests of all ages. Attendees can enjoy complimentary local barbecue, food and drinks, a UTA basketball clinic, games, basketball competitions, prizes and giveaways. The first 50 guests to arrive will receive a $25 American Express gift card.

Members of The University of Texas at Arlington men's and women's basketball teams will lead a basketball clinic, allowing participants to learn from UTA student-athletes. UTA Cheer will also be on hand throughout the event.

The basketball clinic will begin promptly at 3:15 p.m. Participants are encouraged to arrive early. Minors taking part in the clinic must have a signed waiver completed before participation.

Adding to the excitement, filming for "Destination Dallas" will take place during Hoops for the City, allowing attendees to be part of a program being produced for a future broadcast.

Additional activities will include a HORSE competition, trick-shot contest, and free-throw competition, along with a variety of games, prizes, and giveaways.

Hoops for the City is free and open to the public. Advance RSVP is required, and space is limited. Registration will close once capacity is reached.
