ARLINGTON, Texas — UTA Athletics officially unveiled its vision for the future during the 2026 Maverick Blueprint, an evening that brought together university leadership, coaches, student-athletes, alumni, donors, and community leaders from across Arlington.
Led by Director of Athletics Jon Fagg, the event outlined a strategic roadmap for 2026 and beyond while generating immediate momentum and support from the Maverick community.
The Maverick Blueprint highlights key investments aimed at strengthening UTA Athletics and enhancing the student-athlete experience in an ever-evolving collegiate landscape. The department's priorities for 2026-27 and beyond are centered on four key pillars:
- Student-Athlete Nutrition — Supporting performance, health, and overall well-being.
- Championship Facilities — Creating premier environments that foster success and elevate the student-athlete experience.
- NIL and Revenue Sharing — Positioning Maverick programs to compete and thrive in the modern era of college athletics.
- Scholarships — Expanding educational opportunities and investing directly in UTA student-athletes.
The excitement generated throughout the evening quickly translated into philanthropic support.
Demonstrating the strength of the Maverick community's commitment, UTA alumnus Mike Baylor kickstarted the initiative with a $100,000 gift announced during the event. Combined with the enthusiasm and engagement from attendees, athletics officials expressed confidence that the department's $1 million fundraising goal in support of the Maverick Blueprint can be achieved in the next few months.
