2016 UT Arlington Volleyball
Friday, October 7, 2016 - Postgame Quotes
Little Rock 1, UT Arlington 3

UT Arlington Head Coach Diane Seymour
"We got off to a rough start then we cleaned things up. We'd play well for a while then we would play sloppy. When we played good volleyball, we really put it to Little Rock. I try to remind these guys we are capable of doing that. We can do that night-in and night-out. We need to work on staying sharp and focused from the very first point.

"I think we did some good things to adjust to different situations. We got our blocking going. We got a little more aggressive from the service line. We were really scrappy on defense. Those are things we are going to have to bring tomorrow (against Arkansas State). The hard part about playing Little Rock first then Arkansas State second is the dynamic of the two teams is totally different. Arkansas State sets the ball low and fast. Tonight, the ball was high. So, that is an adjustment we are going to have to make tomorrow.

UT Arlington's Qiana Canete
"(The rivalry) is really competitive. Whenever we play Little Rock, we know we have to play up because they are really big. You just have to swing high and do all the little things. (Tomorrow vs. Arkansas State) we are going to have to keep up with their fast offense."

"(Resilience) is super important. Especially, when you start out slow like we did tonight. You just have to keep fighting. You have to learn how to be mentally tough, along with physically tough."

UT Arlington's Cassidy Wheeler
"I always think back to my sophomore hear in the conference tournament when (Little Rock) beat us. I think ever since then it has been a dogfight between the two of us."
