Nancy Baker Clubhouse Text

The Nancy Baker Golf Clubhouse, the official home of the men's and women's golf teams, is a 2,017-square-foot facility that includes lounge and meeting space for the men and women's golf teams, a state-of-the-art TrackMan swing analysis system, a hitting area and an indoor putting green. The facility also includes coaches' offices and outdoor training areas, including a chipping green and hitting range. Built in 2017, the clubhouse is named after UTA athletic director Jim Baker's late-wife, Nancy.

A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and educator, Nancy Baker lived life passionately based on the principles of family education and service. A native of Columbus, Ohio, she graduated from Ohio State and received a master's degree from the University of Florida. Nancy, her husband, Jim, and their two sons, Jordan and Nate, became part of the Maverick Family in 2012. She lost her courageous battle with cancer, but her love of UTA will forever be remembered in the spirit of the Nancy Baker Golf Clubhouse.

A lifelong educator, Nancy was passionate about education and the advancement of youth through scholastic opportunity. The Nancy Baker Memorial Women's Golf Endowed Scholarship was established in 2015 to honor her life through an opportunity for a UTA student-athlete to obtain an education and follow their dreams.

The Nancy Baker Clubhouse will forever be a place at UTA that student athletes can foster life-long relationships, build their educational careers and keep Nancy's spirit and memory alive through sport.

The Nancy Baker Clubhouse has been a wonderful addition for our golf programs. It not only provides a place for our athletes to improve their game, but a place for them to study or just take a break and hang out with their teammates.
