Dear Parents and Guardians, 

We are excited to welcome your students to the Mavs Reading Program, presented by UTA Athletics Marketing! The program is returning for the 2026–27 school year and is designed to encourage elementary school students to develop a love of reading while working toward exciting rewards from UT Arlington Athletics and our community partners. 

The Mavs Reading Program is FREE and open to students in Pre-K through 5th grade. Students will have the opportunity to earn rewards by reading grade-level-appropriate books and completing their assigned reading goal between October 19, 2026, and February 12, 2027. 

Student Reading Goals 

Students must complete the following reading goals based on their grade level: 

• Pre-K through 3rd Grade: Read 5 grade-level-appropriate books 

• 4th & 5th Grade: Read 3 grade-level-appropriate books 

We encourage parents and guardians to support their students by helping them find books they enjoy, setting aside time for reading, and celebrating their progress throughout the program. 

Student Rewards 

Students who successfully complete their assigned reading goal will receive 3 digital tickets to attend a selected UTA Athletics basketball game. The tickets will admit the student and two additional guests. 

Game Options: 

• Game Option 1: December 19th Basketball Double Header 2pm & 5pm- Ugly Holiday Sweater 

• Game Option 2: January 9th Men’s Basketball Vs. Central Arkansas 2pm- White out 

• Game Option 3: March 3rd Women’s Basketball Vs. Tarleton St 6:30pm- National Women in Sports Day 

Program Completion & Reward Redemption 

Once your student has completed their required reading goal, their participation must be documented through the Mavs Reading Program Completion Form. 

Reward redemption information, including instructions for receiving and using game tickets, will be provided upon submission of the Mavs Reading Program Completion Form. 

Please make sure all required information is completed accurately so that your student can receive their earned reward. Schools with the highest participation may be eligible for bonus prizes, including recognition at select UTA Athletics games and a pizza party.
