Chapman joined the UT Arlington women's basketball staff as an assistant coach, specializing in player development. In his first season with the Lady Mavericks, he played a key role in the program’s player development efforts, contributing to notable individual and team improvements. UTA improved its three-point shooting percentage from 27.4% to 31.3%, while several players posted career-best seasons. Nya Threatt and Kali Haizlip each recorded career highs in both scoring and points per game.
Prior to joining the Lady Mavericks, Chapman served as Head Women's Basketball Coach, General Manager, and Director of Basketball Operations for USCAA California Tribal Athletics, an Indigenous collegiate women's basketball program operating in partnership with Sacramento State University. Under his leadership, the Lady Eagles finished 16-4, earned quality victories over established NAIA and NCAA Division II programs, captured a share of the Southwestern State Conference Championship, and produced five First and Second Team All-Conference selections.
In addition to the collegiate coaching success, Chapman has emerged as a top rising player development specialist. In 2019, the California native started CC Skills Academy in Northern California and is continuing to expand. Since 2023, he has served as an NBA pre-draft trainer, working with NBA prospects preparing for the NBA Draft, for Klutch Sports, working alongside trainer Chris Johnson. His client roster has included NBA draft selections Rob Dillingham, Bronny James, Justin Edwards, Terrence Shannon Jr., and KJ Simpson.
During the summer of 2024, Chapman served on the Houston Rockets NBA Summer League staff, gaining valuable experience within an NBA environment while working alongside coaches, executives, and professional athletes.
Prior to California Tribal Athletics, Chapman served as Assistant Coach at Cal State Monterey Bay during the 2023-24 season, where he was responsible for recruiting, scouting, player development, and academic support while helping guide the program's continued success.
In the 2022-2023 season, Chapman was the Men's Associate Head Coach at San Jose City College. The Jaguars finished 26-5, captured the CCCAA Coast South Conference title, Northern California Regional title, achieved the highest win total in program history, earned a No. 3 state ranking, and advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in over two decades.
Chapman's coaching experience also includes service with USA Basketball Junior National Team (2022, 2023), where he was selected to work under longtime U16 National Team Head Coach Sharman White during the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team minicamp in Malaga, Spain.
A native of Oakland, California, Chapman earned his bachelor's degree from Cal State East Bay in 2021.
