Christian Chapman

Christian Chapman joins the Lady Mavs staff after spending the 2024-25 season as the head women's basketball coach and director of basketball operations at Sacramento State's California Tribal Athletics. Under his tutelage, the team achieved historic success, securing a 16-4 league record with quality wins over NAIA and D2 programs. They were named Co-Southwestern State Conference Champions with five First Team and Second Team All-SWSC selections.

Prior to CA Tribal, Chapman spent the 2023-24 season CSU Monterey Bay where he served as the top lieutenant on Sarah Hopkins-Chery's staff. His responsibilities included recruitment, scouting, academic support, training and player development.

During the 2022-23 season, Chapman served as the associate head coach at San Jose City College, where he helped the Jaguars win the CCCAA NorCal Regional with a 26-5 overall record. The 26 wins is a program record and helped secure a No. 2 ranking in California. The Jaguars made an Elite 8 run, the first in a 20 year span for the program.

Much of Chapman's expertise comes in the area of player development. He is the founder and head of player development for the CC Skills Academy as well as the founder and head coach of the Academy AAU Showcase Team. He has served as a coach and featured trainer at the Adidas Grassroots Elite Basketball Circuit Camps as well as the Stanford Youth Basketball Elite Camps. He has trained several women's players who have gone on to NCAA Division I and professional basketball careers. Chapman served as a Klutch Sports pre-draft trainer as well as serving on the Houston Rockets summer league staff in 2024 and 2025.

The Oakland, California native is a graduate of Cal State East Bay, from where he earned his bachelor's in sociology in 2021.
