Ashley Hammond joined the Lady Mavericks as a student manager for the 2015-16 season. Hammond was born in San Antonio before a family move sent her to Van Alstyne, Texas. 

At Van Alstyne High School, Hammond played basketball for four years, lettering on the varsity squad her senior season. 

Hammond is studying in education with aspirations for a career in elementary education. 

Hammond's mother played basketball at Arkansas.
