ARLINGTON, Texas - Texas-Arlington turned 24 Texas-Permian Basin turnovers into 34 points enroute to a 96-53 win at Texas Hall Friday.
UTA (3-2) had five players in double figures - Steven Thomas (14), Roy Johnson (14), Keith Howell (14), Donny Beacham (13) and Brady Dawkins (11) - as no player saw more than 26 minutes of time against the overmatched Falcons (0-10).
Texas-Permian Basin was led by Charncy Ephriam with 19 points.
After UTPB scored the opening basket, UTA took control and never trailed after a Beacham basket with 18:35 to play in the first half. UTA stretched the lead to 45-22 after a Dawkins layup with 45 seconds left in the first half.
UTA shot 73.1% from the field in the second half (19-of-26) in their largest margin over victory since a 103-45 win over Hardin Simmons Dec. 29, 2001.
