ARLINGTON, Texas...Less than a week after clinching the 2003 Southland Conference regular season title the Lady Mavericks of The University of Texas at Arlington will look to claim the SLC postseason crown this weekend in Natchitoches, La. Northwestern State will host the three-day, double elimination tournament at The Demon Diamond.

Texas-Arlington won its first regular season title in over 10 years by defeating Stephen F. Austin, 15-5, in the first of last weekend's three games, and this weekend will attempt to win its first postseason tournament crown and earn the automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. The top seeded Lady Mavs will kick off the tournament on Friday, May 3, facing sixth seeded Sam Houston State at 11 a.m. UTA swept its three game series with the Bearkats during the regular season.
