ARLINGTON, Texas...The University of Texas at Arlington softball team will find out its first round opponent in the NCAA Tournament when the NCAA selection show airs this weekend. The selection show will be broadcast on ESPNNEWS beginning at 9 P.M. on Sunday, May 11. The Lady Mavericks will watch the selection show at J. Gilligans restaurant in Arlington and invite all to attend. Players and coaches will meet and greet their fans beginning at 7:30 P.M.

After finishing the regular season with a 23-4 mark in the Southland Conference and the regular season title, the Lady Mavericks rolled through the SLC Tournament defeating Sam Houston State, Northwestern and Nicholls State on the way to their first-ever tournament crown and automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. The 2003 tournament bracket will be the first to include 64 teams since the championship began in 1982.
