LAS VEGAS, Nevada - The University of Texas at Arlington rolled past Idaho State, 7-0, Friday afternoon to advance to the winners bracket of the 2004 UNLV Men's Tennis Invitational. The Mavericks will face New Mexico State Saturday afternoon for a chance to advance to the tournament finals.

The Mavericks earned the doubles point after posting wins at each doubles position. Nathan McGregor and Neils Buksik paired up at the No. 1 position to defeat Stoica/Moferdin, 8-4, while David Corrie and Sandy Farquharson posted an 8-5 win over Pijoan/Stavridis at the two position. Ian Vazquez-Rowe and Petri van Rensburg finished in the three hole with an 8-4 win over Okoh/Ruwo.

UTA continued to dominate in singles action as No. 21 David Corrie breezed past Hestian Stoica, 6-2, 6-3 at the top position. McGregor earned a 6-3, 7-5 decision over Butch Stavridis at the No. 2 position, while Farquharson edged past Ivan Moferdin in the three hole, 6-1, 7-6. Buksik and Vazquez-Rowe each earned straight set victories at No. 4 and 5 singles, respectively. Van Rensburg escaped Jemre Okoh, 7-5, 4-6, (10-7) in the six hole to close out the match.
